The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Backed by impressive mountains, Kalkan lies on the beautiful southern coast of Turkey between Fethiye and Antalya known as the Turquoise Coast – the sea really is that colour which makes Kalkan, with its stunning views down to the harbour front, an ideal holiday location.

Kalkan / Central Kalkan area
Winding cobbled streets, a beautiful harbour with brightly coloured boats, a photo opportunity at every corner – Kalkan has it all, and more. You can either laze by the pool all day or amble down to the harbour front and enjoy a cold drink overlooking the bay. Step aboard a gulet and cruise the coastline, stopping off to dive into the clear waters below, or catch a dolmus to visit the gloriously long sandy beach at Patara – keep an eye out for the turtles or stroll through the fascinating archaeological sites.

If shopping is the thing, Kalkan has it all. Haggle for that special holiday must-have at the market every Thursday, or wander through the town with all its colourful and unique little shops.

During the day, the pace is slow. As the day wanes, the many restaurants come alive. There are lots of fine restaurants to choose from, whatever your tastes. Watch the sun setting over the bay in one of the roof top terraces, or sample local fare in one of the village style bistros.

Swim in the bay off diving platforms or from the pebbled town beach. Visit underwater tombs, picturesque mountain villages, or walk the Lycian way. The town of Kas with its many water activities is only a short bus journey away, along one of the most beautiful coastal roads we know.

Do all this, or just relax and soak up the sun. Mind, if you have been to Kalkan before, we don’t need to tell you how wonderful it is.
